Reduce and Reuse in one: T-shirt

 by futeng
Today we will be making a reusable bag from a old t-shirt. It is a fairly simple process. It's sew or no-sew depending on your preference. Now lets get started.

This is my first instructable, so please leave constructive critisism only. Be nice.

Hello, and welcome to the Instructables community! It's great that you've decided to tell the world about something you've made by publishing an Instructable. We just wanted to let you know that your project still needs a little more work if you want it to be well received on Instructables. Projects that don't include certain basic elements tend not to get the attention that they deserve, and so we'd love for you to check out the list below of what makes a successful Instructable. Successful projects on Instructables include: - clearly written details of a finished project with instruction - as many steps as are necessary to explain your project - clear images that you took of your project for most, if not all of your steps - an intro image - proper spelling and grammar - appropriate cautions or safety considerations I'll give you another opportunity to make any final changes to your project before we publish it. Once you're all set to go, please republish your project and send me a quick comment letting me know that you've made some changes. I'll give it a quick final check to make sure you're on the right path, and then remove this note. Thanks for your submission and we hope to see your project published soon!

Cool, but how do you get stuff in?
futeng (author) in reply to Mr. BrownieAug 3, 2009. 7:09 PM
You put it in through the neckhole

Hey, I just made this out of a t-shirt and can give you a "real" photo of the end result if you like, to make your instructable better. :]

Pretty cool, but real pictures would be nicer.

I agree. (both with you and EIR)

I'm working on it. I will also add another instructable on how to decorate these bags with a couple of different methods.

How about starting with a Tank top instead, save even another step??? Great idea, I love it!
futeng (author) in reply to 11101paulaJan 2, 2009. 11:53 PM
That would work. Good idea!

What if you were to leave the bottom of the shirt open and close up the sleeves and head hole. This would leave you with a bigger opening so you can carry BIGGER things!
futeng (author) in reply to BigCoCoJan 2, 2009. 10:45 PM
I thought about that but figured that this is an easier solution due to the fact that 1) there would be no handles 2) more sewing is involved 3) the bag would be in a very odd shape and 4) it is just easier. I'm still working on this project and will be updating this project if I feel I can make it better.

Wonderful first time instructable. One thought... adding one picture of a finished product would "sell" your great idea a little better. BTW, Joe's comment is sheer brilliance. This could be used to get all sorts of stuff off of the floor of one's closet. (Not that I have anything on my floor...lol.) Again.....good job.
Angadgsingh says: May 11, 2008. 9:56 AM
Reply to BigCoCo well if you did that there wouldn't be any handles

ONE BAG FOR EIA CABLE PARTS, ONE FOR 120V CORDS, ETC. THE BAGS STAY ON HANGERS STILL, TO KEEP THEM OFF THE FLOOR. THANKS.

Nice idea, yet real pictures of a shirt would be much better quality and make it look neater.
