Reflective Cape

Step 8Add Flair

Add Flair
To complete this safety cape, I painted a decal on the back for added style.  I used black acrylic paint and once it's dried it seems to stay on pretty well.

Secondly I made a mask from a long strip of the black fabric.  I tied it as a blindfold to trace my eyes onto the fabric, cut them out, and then affixed two strips of aluminum tape to the band, cutting the eye holes again.  The third photo shows this in progress.  The foil tape works great for a mask as it can be molded to the contours of your eyebrows and nose.

Last thing I added was a decal on a t-shirt.  I cut out another shape from a scrap of mylar and taped it to the center of the shirt.  I then affixed rays cut out of aluminum tape.  This is a temporary measure as I did not want to injure the shirt, but a more permanent design could be affixed with glue.

The possibilities are endless, I contemplated affixing glow-in-the-dark stars or colored stripes, as well as a belt or decals on my shoes.
