Removable Skirt Lampshade Covering

Removable Skirt Lampshade Covering
Do you need a way to help cut down on the dust in your apartment? Or are you tired of looking at that old lampshade? If so, then you might want to make your own Removable Skirt Lampshade Covering. A removable lamp shade covering will allow you to easily wash it before it accumulates dust. This instructable tells you how to take an old skirt and upcycle it to cover an old lampshade.

For this project you will need the following consumable materials: an old lampshade, an old skirt with a zipper, and thread.

To create the project you will need: pins, scissors, chalk, a measuring tape, and a sewing machine.

I think that this is an innovate product because you can extend the life of two objects and you can help keep some of the dust from accumulating in your home. I was motivated to do this project when I was doing some spring cleaning. I believe in reusing things as a way of being conscious about how I treat our environment. I also like the idea that objects have a life of their own. I still remember many of the outfits my mom sewed for me many years ago. As a matter of fact my user name jessiecreations was chosen for her. Her name was Jessie. She taught me to sew and it is a gift I will always treasure.

Step 1Clean your old lampshade

Clean your old lampshade
Find an old lampshade that you would like to recover. Make sure you dust it well. You may also choose to remove the fabric covering if you like and just use the wire frame.

I love to create things from treasures that I find. I also love to meet other indie artists. I think it great how the web has allowed indies to meet and to take their work more directly to the public....
