Step 3 Pin skirt to the desired length

If you have determined that your skirt is too long for the lampshade, you will need to trim it to the desired length. The easiest way to do this it to place the skirt over the lampshade and then place the lampshade on the lamp. This way you can determine just how short to make the covering. For my lampshade I found the bottom of the lampshade and then I place a pin one inch below this mark. Take the skirt off the lampshade. Now, using a ruler mark the desired hem around the entire bottom of the skirt. Use pins to keep the fabric in place.
