Make certain your bottles are clean both in and out.
Soak if you must, bleach if you insist, but make
sure they are clean, dry and free of residue, fingerprints
and such. You want your glass as clean as possible for
the etching process.

Was the label on the tops removable or silk screened, or painted. If not removable what did you do with the lids? I like the sameness of color on your bottles. Would you consider painting?
