Step 7: Cutting Up The Cake
Cut the resulting square into strips that are NO WIDER THEN THE MINIMUM HEIGHT OF THE CAKE. Also check your design to see how many strips of each color you will need.
Turn each piece on it's side and trim off the top part of the cake making sure you leave it as square and even as possible.
Finally, carefully slide the pieces off onto a chopping board and set aside for later. Repeat with the second cake and save all of the scraps - they are still delicious.
