Hello This is my First instructable, i wanna make many of them or contribute this instruct able its inspired by "lonesoulsurfer" he had a great idea but i wanted my own signature.


First of all i got the idea runing in my head and i wanted to try it out.

Step 1: Items

3 X NE 555 The Heart of the circuit

6 X Capacitor 0.1 u F
6 X Resistor 1 K Ohm
3 X potenciometer 50 K Ohm
A power supply (it might be any old cellphone charger)
Paper Board
Casting Resin and catalyze
Wires



You can make the whole proyect in a mini board if you want or if you wanna make the Layout i sugest


Optional
A Computer -For circuit design
A Printer For circuit layout
Bakelite For printing the circuit
Ferric chloride 
Something to make the Holes mototool maybe ?
Soldering


Step 2: Design

In an old project I did a LED change its intensity with PWM.

PWM its Pulse With Modulation, what it does to LEDs its that it varies the voltage between the terminals at a huge speed ( 1 K Hz), and what this cause its that the eye sees that switching and it integrates it, it represents a change in the intensity,

The circuit i use its a Led RGB change whit analog electronics using a NE 555 taken from

I had a doubt with the RGB LED because it has a principal supplie and



 

Step 3: Designing the PCB (Optional)

A PCB its the desing in routes that can make easier a circuit, it has many programs and a lot of ways to make them i am going to show you one


I started looking for the 555 and its configuration from the last step (1), then you change to a dinamical way of placing the items with its measures thats call design your PCB and then you print it (2) with out the drawing just the pins and the vias

Step 4: Printing the PCB (Optional)

To print the layout its necessary a laser printer, you print in a paper that can transfers to the Bakelite
in my case i used "Calcium paper" or that's how it is called in my country, so it may change. I am at Colombia
then you transfer it by heat, take care you may get hurt, after you transfer you take away the paper and its ready.
Then you use a base "ferric chloride" that takes the vias, pads that don't have ink on them (1) (2) you better use gloves if you wanna make them this way or you can just use a board, after its done and the vias are clear, wash it with normal water and take care with the ferric chloride it can damage your clothes with the color and can oxide any metal so its better to spill it in the grass.


After you clean it you can sand paper to remove the ink, it will give a nice shine to the circuit

 

Step 5: Drilling Holes and Soldering (Optional)

Once you get the PCB right its time to place the components first of all assure you got all of them and then start to drill the holes

For small parts 0.6-0.8 mm
For bigger and heavy holes max 1-1.2 mm
I used a Dremel 300 which its a mo-tool and a standard base for security and perpendicularity after all the holes are made check that the parts feat right in the holes and then solder all the parts (2) (3), always use the tools right.
 

Step 6: Testing Again (Optional)

I used 2 Leds so i was scared of it

and i tested again the new circuit it worked fine (Y)

Step 7: Making the Wood Container and the Resign Mold

Because i had 3 potenciometers and a circuit board I need a container so i decided to make it in Wood so I cut 5 slices and put them together with screws (1) (2)
For the mold i used paperboard with the measures from the box it was 11.5 cm X 11.5 cm X 7.5 cm and cut a box size so you can fit right (3) after cutting the other parts (4) I putted them together with tape.
 

Step 8: The Resin

My resin its not the best I had a proportion for it, it that was 5 cm of catalycer for 500 mL of the resin i put the circuit with the leds inside and mixed it, IT GETS REALLY HOT so wait until its completely dry it varies from manufacturer

another thing its if you put to much it gets crystallized so be careful or do it in

After it was dry I did the last conecionts and test it 

I had a nice Green that looks like Kryptonite, it was very nice
