Rocket Brand Studios HC-SR04 Sensor Kit

Rocket Brand Studios HC-SR04 Sensor Kit
A while ago I found a supplier for some cheapie SR05 knock-offs. I bought a few, and aside from a few mounting problems, I found them to actually be a pretty darn good sensor and wicked-awesome at the price. That said, the provisions for mounting these guys are incredibly terrible. The holes are too small for even a 2-56 screw and when that screw is inserted, it actually sits on components and bridges their connections!

The Rocket Brand HC-SR04 Sensor Kit Makes it All Better.
                                                           Rocket Brand Studios

The sensor kit includes:
  • The sensor itself (Modified to fit standard hardware)
  • A laser-cut acrylic bracket that fixes the "bolts sitting on parts" problem
  • All hardware for assembly and mounting the unit to a servo
  • A micro servo (Optional)
  • The bracket allows for the connections to the sensor to stick out through the top (as the come on the sensor) --or-- if you choose to desolder these pins and add your own straight ones, the connections can stick out the back.
Note: This bracket comes only in blue. (I gotta lotta blue it seems, and thus I can keep my costs down offering this color). Also note --the blue will actually be a dark blue NOT the light blue shown in the assembly photos. If you want a different color, I am happy to oblige (special orders don't upset us) and it won't cost you anything extra, but you will have to shoot me an email and ask nicely. Email can be found under the "contact" tab at the website above.

Step 1Assembly Intro

Assembly Intro
This is going to be pretty short and sweet. Nothing to solder, and wicked quick to put together.

You will need:
  • Small Phillips screwdriver
  • Needle nose pliers or a 3/16 nut driver
  • X-acto knife
That's it!
