Rocket Brand Studios Pan and Tilt Kit

Rocket Brand Studios Pan and Tilt Kit
It's amazing how much personality you can add to your little robot simply by letting him look up and down. Sure, you can just strap a distance sensor on to a servo and have that bad-boy scanning endlessly left and right, but take a minute to imagine your little bot stopping, and looking down at the obstacle it just found. Even better, if you have a "ledge finder" robot, why add downward-facing sensors when you can simply have your robot look down?

Meet the Rocket Brand Pan and Tilt Kit

Features:
  • Laser Cut Acrylic
  • All hardware for assembly
  • Fits SRF-04/05, All Sharp sensors and Ping)))
  • A second sensor can be mounted on the top of the bracket --Perfect for the WiiCamera Board
  • Available with or without servos

Let's talk about the elephant in the room. The acrylic may have a distinctive smell when you unwrap it. Yup, this simply what it smells like when it comes out of the laser cutter. The good news is that 95% of that funky smell is in the paper backing, not the plexiglass itself. Carefully peel the paper backing off all the pieces and throw it away outside the house. The smell will go with it, I promise.

Now, to get started, you will need:
  • An X-acto knife
  • Little screwdrivers
  • A little sandpaper (optional)
  • A cleaning product of some kind --Windex, acetone, nail polish remover, goof-off, mineral spirits, --whatever you got
  • Your robot brain (Arduino, Picaxe, Prop, etc)
Find your tools, unwrap the parts and move on to the next step.
