Roman Numeral Clock
Why buy a clock, when you can make one of your own!
Materials Needed:
24" Wooden Round
White Paint
Color of Choice
Credit Card
Roman Numeral Decal
STEP 1: Step 1: Purchase Wood Round
Lowes sells these pre-made wooden rounds. They come in three sizes. This instructable is for the 24"
STEP 2: Step 2: Paint the Round
Paint your round white...I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (Old Ochre) because it is good quality and dries fast but you can use the paint of your choice.
STEP 3: Step 3 : Prepare Sticker
Amazon sells this Roman Numeral sticker Decal in 24" that is a perfect clock stencil. Click my website link under my profile to find the Amazon link under "Roman Numeral Clock Tutorial" under "Plan"
It comes rolled up so I used a picture frame and pot to flatten it out.
STEP 4: Step 4 : Apply Sticker
The sticker comes with instructions but you peel the back side off. Flip it and press the letters into the round. Make sure you place the stickers where you want them before pressing down on the decal.
I used a scrap wooden block to make sure the letters would stick to the wood. A credit card would work great too.
STEP 5: Step 5: Remove Sticker
Remove the top layer of the decal. Be sure to lift it slowly to ensure the stickers stay placed on the wood.
You can also add stickers to put words on your clock.
STEP 6: Step 6 : Paint the Round
Paint over the round with the color of your choice. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (Aubbuson Blue), and let dry.
STEP 7: Step 7: Peel Off Decal
Once the round is dry use a small nail to begin peeling off the decal. Be careful not to scratch the paint off.
STEP 8: Step 8: Add Hardware
Add clock hands or hardware of your choice!
