Introduction: Royal Rose Napkins:Folding Tutorial

Picture of Royal Rose Napkins:Folding Tutorial

You can take your dining table setup to the next level by having cloth napkins folded in a fun shape or design. Folded napkins can add an elevated and professional looking touch to place settings. This Easter I folded shaped rose napkins. Last Easter I did bunnies, but this year I wanted to try something that wasn't so comedic or literal. I decided roses would look elegant and still be apropriate for Easter but also any occasion. I also bought some chalk eggs and drew some designs with names in cursive. The eggs were used in place of name cards. You could also spray paint plastic eggs with chalk spray paint and draw on them.

Step 1: Your Napkin

Picture of Your Napkin

You will need a fabric napkin, more often than not in napkin folding you should look for a sturdier or heavier fabric, but in this case you can use a loghter fabric. Most of the time you want a thicker napkin because th napkin will stand up and hold a design better

Lay your napkin out flat on a smooth surface.

Step 2: Basics

Fold the napkin in half into a triangle.

Step 3: The Starting Roll

Picture of The Starting Roll

Grab the napkin at the two ends of the triangle and being to roll it towards the point in the center of the triangle. Roll it about half way up the triangle.
Flip the napkin over.

Step 4: Rolling the Rosette

Picture of Rolling the Rosette

Start at on end of the triangle and roll it to the other end.
It should look a rosette at one end of the napkin.
Tuck in the end into another section of the roll.

Step 5: Releasing the Leaves

Grab the two tail ends that protrude from the rosette and pull them apart, you may have to pull and adjust them so they look nice.
Flip over the rosette and the two tails should look like leaves.

Material looks thick. If it was tinner maybe had completelly other look? What do you think?

Thanks for commenting, well I think the napkin when you pull apart the leaves will lay better. By that I mean flatter. Thinner fabric will mean the leaves will pull apart and lay flat and be more flimsy. The thickness of the fabric creates more of a bunched up or wrinkles infer the Rose which elevates it a little.
