If your getting Error -2011 that probably means your system menu is too high. Try downgrading it, that's what i did. I found this video very helpful -

Hope it helps :)

Error -2011 means you dont have the trucha bug on your wii and that you need to downgrade ios15 and install a patched ios36 then you should be just fine
Madrman in reply to funnycat53Jun 4, 2010. 5:06 PM
My 4.2 Wii failed at this step too. Apparently you have to DOP Mii it and configure some IOSs before you run cIOS. I forgot how I found this link, but it sure helped me xD
USE THIS BEFORE STEP 2 OF THIS GUIDE

http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/hacking-guide/trucha

There's more than the DOPmii thing on there and it's all pretty useful information - I bookmarked it, but I only needed that page to follow the rest of this guide. Anyway, I am running burned discs on my 4.2U Wii and my shop channel works fine. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DOWNGRADE :D

Mars42 in reply to fayyaz100Feb 12, 2009. 1:26 PM
As others say, you probably have version 3.4 or the more tricky (because you can't see it) version 3.3v2 (the Wii only tells you that it's 3.3 - if its v1 or v2 it don't tell you).
I had great success downgrading my Wii from 3.3v2 til 3.2 by following the guide from this youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUiHK4-LNlAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUiHK4-LNlA
In the description you'll find a link for all the files you need, and the guid (which is in 3 parts) tells you what to do by showing it in realtime.

Good luck and have fun :-)

I have 3.4u installed with the TW Homebrew. I followed the directions but I am unable to get the option for IOS 249 under the Advanced install option. I have the homebrew channel on the WII Menu. There was a mention that cIOS would not install on 3.4 but being that Homebrew was able to get an update for 3.4, is this still the case? Is there any other way to play burned games? Is there a way to revert to a previous firmware version that will not "brick" my WII. I also read somewhere that there are some games that just will not work, does anyone know what these games are?

The rest are impossible to read within the small window before it goes back to menu from error. Any ideas?

All went well, after installing the dvdx thing, the wii froze and all i could do was pulling the plug, now the start button doesn't do anything anymore and the controller by pushing A lights up the 4 bleu lights. Is this the end of my console ????
haplodepatrijn in reply to haplodepatrijnJan 6, 2009. 4:49 AM
This morning, i pulled the plug in and a bleu light came up. This adventure has a happy ending; since then , 'm not very willing any more to mess with the OS of my Wii. Can you really install apps via the homebrew channel that destroy the OS ? The Wii hang up in the middle of installing the DVDx_fw-3.4_comex boot.dol. There were 3 passes, the first went well, the second i had this freeze or maybe the install was just idle ? the remote did not react. Some used this app ?
conradev (author) in reply to haplodepatrijnJan 6, 2009. 5:33 PM
That did not mess with your OS, it messed with the power. I did that my first time and I freaked out. I called Wii Tech Support (I didnt tell them it was because i hacked it) and they told me to unplug the power adapter from the wall, and unplug EVERYTHING on the Wii, wait 10 minutes and then plug just the power in. It turned on after that and i was fine. As for DVDx 3.4, I've never used it because i've never updated my Wii

conradev (author) in reply to whocaresitJan 3, 2009. 8:14 AM
Normal install is installing it for the IOS that Homebrew runs on. IOS249 is what The backup launcher runs on, and that is what you need to install it on
whocaresit in reply to conradevJan 3, 2009. 3:27 PM
What's IOS 249? Isn't the custom IOS, 36? (Sorry I'm new and trying to get educated here ( :- } ) -- Can you create a new Tutorial on using Backups directly from Disc Channel with "MenuPatcher" by Waninkoko?

cIOS36 is a copy of ios 36 tweaked with and then installed into the IOS249 slot

Ahh, I see. It wasn't clear that I had to use the arrow keys to select IOS249. Things are working a little better now. Do I need to "undo" the botched install into IOS36 somehow? For what it's worth, I burned 3 games. One worked with the "botched" install (even worked with DVDx removed). Another game got a weird error, but is working correctly now. The 3rd game is toast. Gets a disk read error (burned it again, same results)... Thanks for the help, you rock!!

Well, the game that isn't working says it works with backup loader 0.1 and backup launcher 0.1, but apparently hasn't been tested with backup launcher 0.3. I'm wondering if I got a bad copy of the ISO.
earlvanze in reply to diskjunkieNov 16, 2008. 10:16 AM
Go here for an updated list and there's a new, updated Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma with better compatibility and the ability to boot from the Disc Channel.

http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php/Backup_Launcher_v3

Make sure the ISO file size is exactly 4,589,824 KB. There's a lot of other factors as well.
