Run Backups on any Wii Without a Modchip

Step 4 Install Backup Loader 0.3

In this step you will install a Channel called the Backup Launcher 0.3 GAMMA Channel

Step 1: Open The Homebrew Channel

Step 2: Select the app labeled "Apps/WADManager1.3/boot.dol", and hit load

Step 3: Read the Disclaimer and Agree or Disagree

Step 4: Hit A

Step 5: Select Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma:

NOTE: ONLY NTSC HAS BEEN TESTED; IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A NON-WORKING CHANNEL, DELETE IT AND INSTALL THE CORRECT ONE

NTSC - US Wiis
PAL - European, African and some Asian Wiis
JAP - Japanese and some Asian Wiis
RegionFrii - Region Free (Works on any Wii)

Step 6: Hit A when it asks you if you're sure you want to install it

It will Install and bring you back to the list

Step 7: Hit the Home button to restart your Wii

You should have a new channel...The Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma Channel

im on 4.2u and when i load WadManager1.3 the screen just goes blank and my WiiMote disconnects and my wii is still on

I had the same problem. You cant access Wad Manager 1.3 when your 4.0 and over. To do that, you would have to get Wad Manager 1.4, then it works. I guess its cause of the updates that Nitendo give with the 4.0/4.1 update. The older version of Wad Manager doesnt work because of that.

please someone help me.. I am trying to install the WAD manager 1.7 (1.3 goes blank) but on the half-way (when I must choose the storage) my wii remote always just loses connection and I cant do anything except to shut wii down.. anyone knows how to solve this?

I used WAD Manager 1.7 Worked perfect on IOS149 with OS 4.3e Works perfect on PAL BTW! Thanx!

I soft modded my wii a lil while back and now i'm handing it down to younger family member that may not understand how this works and before they go and break it i figured i would just return the wii to its original stateif thats possible. can somebody help me with this.

well I don't think they'll break it in any way..but if you really want to return it to the original state..just go into your options and reformat it..it will take Home-brew and everything else you added off the Wii...

i uninstalled dvdx when trying to install a virtual console wad, then reinstalled dvdx the wrong way and got the same thing. uninstall the dvdx and MAKE SURE you do advanced install AND select ios249 as option. if you are absolutly sure ur dvdx is installed with IOS249, then you installed ios249 incorrectly. i would reccomend trying to reinstall dvdx before a reinstall of ios 249. hope this helps.

I just finished finally being able to load my burned games to my wii, but now when I click on the home icon to go back to it, I just get a blue screen, I then have to hold down the power button for it to turn off completely. can someone tell me how to fix this, and I also realized it only does this when I play the burned game.

Hey there, I have 3.2U and when I try and launch specific games (Sonic adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Riders, Sonic Adventure DX) while some other games work, (Sonic Heroes, SHadow The Hedgehog) and all Wii games work (Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Riders Zero Gravity) When I launch the non-working gamecube games, when I press A, my TV says, "no signal" but the music/SFX appears to be playing... And all these games are on the compatibility list listed as "Working 100%" Any ideas?

Never mind, it was due to me trying to run a PAL game on a NTSC Wii, I had to select "Force PAL" for it to work.

249 won't be there if you have a 3.4...you need to find and use the right ones for a 3.4....the one you are using is for 3.3 and lower..

Thank you for your instructables,very nice! I'm having a little problem though when I try to launch the back up discs I get a screen full of numbers with the words CODE DUMP in the middle. I've tried 2 different versions of the back up launcher and different types of dvds. same thing happens each time. I hope someone can help. Thank you

Oh yes thank you chunkie but I followed that instructable first. it all seemed to load really well. I have hbc and pre loader installed and then at stage 8 it suggests your page for the back up loader installation.This worked ok and will launch an original disc but it's my burnt dvds that are a problem. I realised that I had been using dvd+rw which you don't recommend so I rushed out and bought some sony dvd-r s but I get the same problem. I can't quite read the first line as it's slightly off the screen but it looks like 'exception DSI occured' and lots of consecutive numbers starting with GSR. just wondered if this had happened to anyone else and what they did to fix it. Thank you again

I just downloaded the HackMii installer and installed DVDx from there. That worked. Don't worry about the IOS249 installation or anything, just do a normal install.

I tried to install the 04-BackupLauncher0.3g+_249-NeoRame.rar like instructed below.I get a installing ticket...ERROR! (ret = -2011). I have the HBC and wii 4.0. What do I have to do to make this work? Can some please help me?

Look over at the WiiBrew website, they got something called Banner Bomb for Wii's with 4.0, don't know if it will help but it's worth looking at.
