Introduction: SELF WATERING PLANTER

THIS IS MY FIRST INSTRUCTABLE AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT.

YOU CAN MAKE A RECYCLED SELF WATERING ORGANIC PLANTER FROM ANY PLASTIC DRINK BOTTLE BUT I CHOSE TO USE A 2 LITRE BOTTLE BECAUSE YOU CAN PUT A FAIRLY DECENT SIZED PLANT IN IT WITHOUT IT TIPPING OVER.

Step 1:

1) TAKE A 2 LITRE BOTTLE AND RINSE IT OUT THOROUGHLY WITH HOT WATER AND VINEGAR.
2) REMOVE THE CAP AND DRILL A SMALL 1/8" HOLE IN THE CENTER.
3) CUT A 12" LONG PIECE OF COTTON STRING.
4) TIE A KNOT 3" FROM THE CUT ENDS TO MAKE A ' Y ' SHAPE.
5) FEED THE STRING THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE CAP TILL YOU HIT THE KNOT.

Step 2:

6) CUT THE BOTTLE CLOSE TO THE TOP WITH A UTILITY KNIFE AND REMOVE.
7) FILL THE BOTTOM WITH WATER AND ORGANIC PLANT NUTRIENTS.
8) REPLACE THE CAP ON THE TOP PIECE OF BOTTLE.

Step 3:

9) TURN THE TOP PIECE OVER AND PLACE ONTO THE BASE PIECE.
10) FILL THE TOP WITH ORGANIC COCONUT FIBER AND BE SURE THAT THE STRING IS EVENLY PLACED TO HELP DISTRIBUTE THE WATER.
11) LAST BUT NOT LEAST, ADD YOUR FAVORITE PLANT.
12) YOU NOW HAVE A RECYCLED SELF WATERING ORGANIC PLANTER.

Step 4:

OTHER USES FOR YOUR BOTTLES

1. DRY OR LIQUID FUNNEL
2. ODDS AND ENDS ORGANIZER
3. SPRAY BOTTLE
4. GARDEN PLANT SELF WATERER
5. BIRD FEEDER/ HOUSE
6. INSECT CAPTURE DEVICE
7. MATERIAL SCOOP

THERE ARE A NUMBER OF ITEMS THAT YOU CAN MAKE FROM THESE BOTTLES.

WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT SHAPES, SIZES AND COLORS, IT IS ALMOST ENDLESS.

BE CREATIVE AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN MAKE FROM YOUR BOTTLES BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO THROW THEM AWAY.
