I don't like thick wallets. I don't like sitting on them. I don't like trying to find stuff in them. Because of people like me, the minimalist wallet became a thing, and I am here to present you with another one. SLIM. No, it doesn't stand for anything. Yes, I only named it that because it sounds awesome. And because it is slim. The minimalist wallet has several obvious advantages and disadvantages, and I'm here to say it's not perfect. The most obvious disadvantage is that they can't hold as much as normal wallets. That said, minimalist wallets do what they were made to do. Just barely exist.

Step 1: What You'll Need

3 1/2 x 5 1/4 Piece of Leather (the thinner the better)
Krazy Glue
Credit/Library Card
Leather Punch (optional)
3 ft Leather Cord/String (optional)

Step 2: Gluing Your Wallet

Yeah, I know it sounds funny, but we're gonna' glue a wallet. Unless, of course, you decide you have adequate skill and equipment to stitch it together with leather cord. In which case, do it! Not only do it, but share it in the comments and explain how you did it!

Place your credit/library card in the center of the piece of leather. Fold the leather around the card so it comes together at the back, as shown. It should be a fairly snug fit. Next, you need to apply a liberal amount of Krazy glue in between the two surfaces. Make sure not to get glue on the card or any visible leather.

Step 3: Cutting the Leather

Cut a slot out of the front of the wallet, as shown. Be very careful when making the cuts to keep them clean and straight! The purpose of this slot is to help you grab the card easily when removing it from the holder.

If all you want is a pocket wallet, then you're done! You might consider burnishing the edges for a more polished feel. Whatever you do with it, please post it in the comments for everyone to see!

Step 4: Adding the Neck String (Optional)

Mark two points on the upper back of the wallet, as shown. Punch both holes using your leather punch. Run your leather cord through the holes, as shown. Benefits of having a neck string include:

You don't have to keep it in your pocket.
You don't have to keep it in your pocket.
You don't have to keep it in your pocket.
etc.

I recommend wearing it under the shirt, so as not to display your credit card/Driver's License/etc.
