I'm going to make an instructable about how to catch a white whale, let me just go find my camera...

I have to say that i totally disagree about instructables about magic (illusion) (or any video *how to* or *DIY*) Because its killing magic and its destroying magician work (some time its a lot of time to create a trick). Im a magician and i found this sad that other magician work is published like this :( (and is there a copyright on this anyway?)

Anyway welcome on instructables.

Why is it that rather poor Instructables like to excuse themselves with "this is my first instructable"?
Photographing a book (poorly) and posting the images does not constitute an Instructable. You're showing us a book, not how to do something.
Please unpublish this, do it yourself, take photographs of your hands and cards, and write your own words.

calm down..... this is his first instructable, and he is probably new to this site so he may have not seen the best examples of instructables....don't set your standards too high btw....smoking kills you and others...

and ahherm.... speak of poor not well thought of instructables, well what about "how to befriend a cat"?
Jul 16, 2007. 2:24 PMlemonie says:
I didn't photograph a book, and have you seen the others (all of which original)? And why do people think that an image of a guy posing with a cigarette implies that I smoke? And what relavence is it to quote Govenement health warnings about smoking in that comment? L

So a "poor not well thought of instructables, well what about "how to befriend a cat"?" makes this one OK? I don't think so. This is a really poor example of an Instructable.

To end Dispute, This IS a real Instructable... However poor it may be, It Teaches you how to do something an its to the point. Its just a very low quality one.

You are Missing VERY important Details, Right now this instructable appears to be yours as if you are claiming it as your own. Seeing these pictures are taken from a book is proof enough that its not yours. Therefor you MUST include the name of the book and the author otherwise, this would be plagiarisms, and your instructable can and/or will be taken down.

Tip- Seeing as you have a camera, I would suggest that you take pictures of yourself doing each step and fully explain the process. It would definitely improve the quality of this instructable.

No it's not an Instructable, and that's pretty obvious.
However, for a technical definition see here:

Please note e.g.
"projects that are previously copyrighted or
rely solely on copyrighted or otherwise protected materials"

I aggree entirely When i published my first instructable, i took time in spelling and grammar, because that is how i would want to read it. This does not constitute an instructable as it is not at all original. Please unpublish and re-do.
Jul 15, 2007. 3:51 PMlemonie says:
Yes, that one's quite good. L
Jul 16, 2007. 1:44 AMFrenchCrawler says:
Shouldn't credit be given to the author of the book? Along with the title of the book?
Jul 15, 2007. 6:47 PMHamO says:
"Comment nicely"...not hardly.
