how many yellow/grey half moon pieces do i need for the barrel?
Feb 25, 2010. 7:04 PMHeroofTime55 says:
imma making this mother, but i'm a liiitle short on yellows.  but i have enough of those orange ones with the nubs on em to make up for it and finish the whole gun.  only problem is to figure out where to use them so the nubs don't get in the way, already used about half of em on back half of the stock.

Well I finished it, gave me some trouble 'cause I  couldn't find a very clear set of instructions for the SRv2, but I  finally figured out how to get it all together.  Mine's a bit different, and a bit shorter and probably underpowered, but I got the SRv2 mech working perfectly.  Also lacking the particular rubber bands you have.  Shooting sharpened rods as someone posted the idea to melt holes through the rods and insert a wire hook, been shooting holes in cardboard boxes, simply does not get old.  Nothing like taking a child's toy and making it into a dangerous weapon.

It's my first and probably last knex gun, and i couldn't be happier with it.  Thanks for the guides :)

http://www.instructables.com/id/TR18/step1/Parts-list/

If that parts list is accurate, I  fear I  may have to spend more hours building this one as well, as I  do have the parts, at least I'm fairly certain.  i'll be pushing it though, my collection isn't THAT  big.  Glad to be putting it to use though.

...And I forgot to submit this post.  I've finished the TR18.  Ignored some of the difficult red rods, in fact I ignored all of them.  Now to test.

If anyone is having problems with this firing system, try Katarukito's slingshot gun prototype. Here is the link. It works perfect and I have a prototype of his mechanism on his orangeboard. I call it the MPG-2. Hope this helps. :]

I found out a very easy trigger system... Just use an Y clip to lock the bullet in... I tried it and it works perfect. And where do you get those large rubberbands?
May 7, 2009. 12:33 PMRaiden97 says:
check out my new gun it has the firing system i think you are talking about
Apr 23, 2009. 2:22 PMMr. Stealth says:
I think Viccie already invented that, but tell me if you have though of something new. I got the blue ones at Staples or any office supply store. They usually have a great selection. You need to get the #64 though.
