STAR WARS NINTENDO Wii

This is a short instructable on how I moded a Nintendo Wii case with fiber optic stars and logo for a Star Wars themed Wii! This Wii is on sale now on E-Bay, it will also have the Star Wars the Force Unleashed game.

Warning Mod at your own risk, I take no responsibility if you mess up your Wii!!

Step 1: Parts

The parts include:

Black Wii case (ebay from Great seller msmmall)
Fiber optics 2 diff. sizes (E-bay from Great seller thefiberopticstore)
L.E.D. 's: I used 3 yellow,4 white, 3red (1 for light bar, 2 for Wiimote and Nunchuk)
Small amount of Plexiglass
Thin brass sheet
Epoxy
Sticker paper
A needle
Model paint
wires, solder, soldering iron, etc.
and a Wii!!!

Wait, stupid question, where did you hook up the LEDs that power the stars? Did you connect them straight onto the circuit board, because I assume a resistor would be needed. Thanks!

Could you make a zelda one? I REALLY lovve zelda, and I think it would make a lot of money, seeing as theree are quite a few zelda games (Virtual console, twilight princess and links crossbow training) so you could mod the zapper and the classic controler!

also in your demo video, what is the song at the very end? is it actually from one of the hulk movies? either way it sound an awful lot like 'superheroes' from the rocky horror picture show... actually I'm convinced that it is :P

Man I am a huge star wars fan. I wish I could have bought this one.  The possibilities are endless on this. You could have a Jedi or Sith Wii depending on the colors used . Also just a thought, what if you put the logo on top where the tie fighter is and put the death star on the side in the process of blowing up and used your fiber optics as the explosion.

Question: I am modding my wii to accept either two SMD LEDs or just one Ultrabright Pink LED. What is the voltage coming out of the wii to the Gate assembly?

Why is it, that everybody and their dog mods the Wii, and almost nobody mods the Xbox and Playstation 3? I like the Wii and all, but it gets a little stale. Wonderful mod anyway.

the 360 and ps3 are propably a little more complicated to mod than the wii

No good games = not a very useful system.

WRONG! The wii has sold way more than the ps3. And slightly more than the 360 and ps3 combined! The wii is NOT just for kids, it's for retro gamers, wich are the HARDEST games out there. Donkey kong is by far way harder than any other game. The wii is also the cheapest, so it's great for this kind of project, and has the most revolutionary controller. The ps3 has a better video card, but that's useless unless you have an hd tv. The only reason I would even consider buying a 360 would be for halo and online.

because if you brick your wii because of this its not really a big deal and if you are successful u dont have to worry about future brick its not realy possible (other than getting a wrong update and not being able to change settings and go online)

There are quite a few faceplates and such for the Xbox. I actually don't mind the way my PS3 looks. Not much need to mod that.

he as soon as i can get back to school im getting my friend to paint jack scellington laying down with the head as the on button on my faceplate and the hill scene on the top and all with photo stickers so i dont void my warranty.

you've got to love the black II cases! very pretty, much better then that sterile white... bleh We've got one ourselves, PAIN to install, but worth it! Very nice job on your wii, love the work that's gone into it!
