Step 1Buy products made for the pubic area.

Buy products made for the pubic area.
There has been an explosion in the pubic hair grooming products industry over the past few years. The advantage of using products made for this type of skin and hair is that the formulas normally contain less chemicals and more natural substances. Look for products that will reduce ingrown hair, rashes and bumps and that are perfume and die free.

i heard that banging the razor isn't good for it. i can't remember why. aparrently a swish in cool water is best.

You dont tap the razor on anything hard because of how thin the blades are. though they are tough and take alot of crap on a daily basis, they bend easily. when they bend, it makes you more susceptible to getting cut by the razor...took me a while to learn the lesson when i first started shaving then my dad told me why its not a good idea.

Personally, I hate unruly, birds nest pubic hair. There is nothing attractive about it, IMO.

So its good to see that both genders are coming to understand the need for total grooming.

Ive always wondered at guys that have dried, scaly skin on their elbows, hands, feet, legs etc. Really, would you be attracted to a woman who let themselves go like that?

Nice job on the tutorial...

Pubic hair can be quite attractive as it enhances the way the area looks...like facial hair. I think this trend toward total grooming stems from a fear of the physical, an attempt to rid ourselves of any reminder that we are animals. Also, it's a trend, which means that media is hyping it. Then again, there's no accounting for taste, so to speak. Obviously, it's a personal preference. And guys, the media and shaving companies are lying to you...being manscaped looks comically ridiculous...having body hair on the arms, legs, chest stomach and then...suddenly, none around the nether regions; it's always tough not to burst out in a giggling fit over how silly it looks. But, it's cool...people have been duped by fashion trends before...think shoulder pads and the 80s.

Don`t use NAIR down there! Or any other hair removal cream. Not unless you want the skin you just removed the hair from (presumably so you can get some action) to peel off! It burns. That is all.

Great instructable.  Very informative.  My husband has been shaving me down there for about 8 years.  I have been returning the favor for him as well.  I do splurge occasionally and get a wax.  It does help to not get hair in your teeth, mouth or up your nose.  I enjoy it because if done right it is exquisite.  When I had my 2 children the doctor even commented on it from a cleanliness point of view.

Well Happy Valentines' Day.
But I just wonder WHO are you doing this for? The only real benefit of shaving there is to avoid crabs!
[if it gets in yer teeth, yer doin' it wrong!]

I'm 14 and I can get it wherever. I think that you might need to chat about your parents about your 'beard' then you've got yourself a razor. works for me.

Shaving? Hmm, never thought about that. I use a Weedeater lawn trimmer. The gas powered type.

So I could use a willow bark tea rinse (salicylic acid) after the ice cube?
Aug 15, 2010. 8:26 AMTotysheep says:
Don't use salicylic acid! That's for removing pimples, blackheads and thick skin!! You should use a regular face tonic to close the pores and to restore the skin's natural acidity. I don't do the whole shaved pubes thing, but I'm a beautician, so I know a thing or two about skincare.

Now, y'see, i use a staight razor. (made it myself) Erm...yeah, it takes a knack to use, and the face is hard enough...
Jun 26, 2010. 12:18 PMbaneat says:
Holy crap you must have (quite literally) brass balls to have the guts to use a self made razor down there.
May 27, 2010. 3:55 PMbitterbierce says:
Actually, if you can work your way around the area, straight  razors work faster and leave less itch afterwards but it is not for everyone. Pre-shave oils (or even an aftershave used before) are a MUST.

I have NEVER met a man who shaves his ... man hairs. Then again, I'm from Kentucky, so we're all tough. You guys know that the Thompson Submachine Gun, AKA the Tommy Gun was invented in Kentucky? ;) Or rather, the man who invented it was from Kentucky.

I am a kentuckian, and both I and some of my other (heterosexual, male) friends shave our crotches. I don't really see your connection between toughness and crotch hair (unless you are using a caveman as an example).
Jun 11, 2008. 3:53 PMAburame Shino says:
Most people associate their crotches with how tough they are, how cool they are, etc. I was making fun of these people more than anything so ... meh.

I guess I missed the joke. I just felt like replying with what I thought.
Jun 12, 2008. 10:39 AMAburame Shino says:
Lol. I see your point. =P No hard feelings? I actually know a few guys who are state policemen that have to shave their man hairs for stakeouts, as they would sweat alot, causing chafing. We all know how painful that'd be. Meh. But here in Frankfort, Kentuckians of all kinds unite, so there may be people who do or don't. Kinda depends, I guess.
Jun 2, 2008. 6:29 AMLlewner says:
What's that about KY? I saw the Amazing Race (http://alpha.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race12/bio/kynt_vyxsin.shtml). I think the demographics of your state may be changing.
