Step 5: Applying the Salt Water

Add salt to a few ounces of water until the salt doesn't dissolve into the water anymore. Instead of salt water you can also use lemon juice for this step. Wet your finger in the water and dab the segments until the paper surrounding the wires is saturated. Once you wet the final segment you should see the LED pop on quickly. Your skin is slightly conductive and if you are touching the wires that will augment the power the LED receives too.
