Introduction: Salted Caramel Macchiato Crisps
Who doesn't love a delicious, steaming, and salted caramel macchiato? Well now you don't even have to leave the house to taste the sweet and salty goodness. Just pop these cookies in your oven!
Recipe yields 12-14 DELICIOUS cookies
Step 1: Ingredients
Step One: gather ingredients
1/8 cup of dark brown sugar
1/8 cup of granulated sugar
3 Tbsp. of cold, diced butter
1 tsp. of strongly brewed coffee
1/2 Tbsp. of melted caramel sauce ( I use homemade)
3/4 cup of all purpose flour
1 egg yolk
Step 2: Directions
Step Two: beat butter and sugar on medium speed until creamy
Step Three: add egg yolk and beat just until incorporated
Step Four: add melted caramel sauce and coffee, blend until well mixed
Step Five: Add the flour in 3 stages
Step Six: Roll the dough into waxed paper or plastic wrap. Seal and place in a refrigerator for 1-2 hours
Here comes the best part!!
Step Seven: Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and cut into fun shape
Step Eight: Bake these yummy treats at 325 for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 5: Salty Caramel Icing
Salty Caramel Incing
1 Tablespoon of unsalted butter
1 Cup of powdered sugar
2 teaspoons or melted caramel
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
2 tsp. hot water
a pinch of kosher salt
1. Whip the powdered sugar and butter until fluffy
2. Add caramel, vanilla, and salt
3. Decorate your little cuties!! Don't forget to swirl the caramel sauce and sprinkle with a tiny bit of salt or sugar for a beautiful garnish!
