I’m not sure if it’s the pink button nose or the rosy cheeks, all I know is I can’t help but “aawwww…” out loud when I see these adorable Santa Christmas cake pops. They are sure to be the cutest Christmas treat on the table at any holiday party!

Step 1: Supplies

To make Santa cake pops you will need:
  • White cake balls
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Red, white, and peach candy melts
  • Marshmallow bits
  • Red disco dust (optional)
  • White sparkling sugar
  • White tiny sugar pearls
  • Pink sugar pearls
  • Pink luster dust (optional)
  • Black confetti sprinkles
  • Toothpicks
  • Tweezers (clean and used for food only)
  • Small paint brush (clean and used for food only)
  • Styrofoam block or cake pop stand

Disco dust is not edible. It is plastic craft glitter and should not be applied to food that will be eaten. It doesn't matter that it is non-toxic--so is playdoh, craft glue, and silly putty, but we don't decorate food with those, either.

You should be using edible cake sparkles [colored gum arabic], unflavored gelatin [colored and ground into flakes], or fine grain sanding sugar [bought colored or colored using a dot of gel paste color rubbed into it.

Those beards are the cutest! What brand of candy melts do you use? I always have the worst luck with them.
Penolopy, for the Santa cake pops I used almond bark and colored it with candy coloring. I find the almond bark has a thinner consistency than the candy melts. I also like the Make n Mold candy melts. I recently learned that you can use paramount crystals to thin the coating so I will be trying that soon. Also, you can add vegetable oil to your coating to thin it.
