Introduction: Satin Embroidery Floss Wrapped Bangles

About: I'm an artist who loves making pretty things! I have a gorgeous chocolate lab who accompanies me on hair-brained projects. I love the beach and I love crafting.I also run a crafting blog and and an etsy shop.

This project came about when I realized I had bangles but no longer wanted to wear them with their original colors. The Idea is simple and easy. pretty affordable too. These make a great gift with many colors offered in DMC floss the possibilities are endless.

Step 1: Supplies

Supplies

Bangles [Any size or shape. Reuse old bangles, or find bangles at thrift shops as well,]
Glue, Mod podge, Tacky, Any glue that dries clear
Scissors
Satin Embroidery Floss
Wet paper towel

Optional Supplies

Beads
Wire
Charms

Step 2: Floss

Cut a length of your desired color of floss and divide the strands of floss. This here is a choice you can use one strand at a time, or all of the floss. It depends on how you want the piece to look once its wrapped.

Once you have your desired strands of floss ready, pick a starting stop on the bangle and dab with a tiny bit of glue.

Step 3: Satin Thread Wrapping

Now place the end of your floss into the glue and start wrapping. Wipe off the excess the glue after you secure the end of the floss, with your wet paper towel.  Wrap the floss tightly so that you can longer see the metal or original bangle beneath it..When you get to the end of floss, add a dab of glue secure the same way you did when you started wrapping the bangle.

The repeat this again with a new piece of floss until the bangle is covered.

Now if you are satisfied with your new bangle  once it is covered in floss then Tada!

If you'd like to see some other possible ideas onto the next step!

Step 4: Optional Supplies

Some ideas for taking it a bit further, use another color floss wrap a pattern around the bangle. Wrap another piece of floss around the bangle with beads.I used copper wire and beads and I added a single charm to one of the smaller ones. You could also braid the floss before your wrap the bangle. Lot's of ideas these are  easy fun and affordable to make.
