Weird thing is that after trying this several times, I've decided that I actually like the G2 Pro gel refills *better* than the Mont Blanc refills. They're easier to write with, and I like the way the end result looks more, *and* they feel better to me. And are cheaper!

just curious, by removing a piece of the blue plastic,
you opened a hole in the top of the refill.
is there then any danger of the ink coming out if the pen is left inverted for a length
of time?
perhaps you should fill the hole with hot glue...

he didn't really make a hole in it, the piece of blue plastic he cut was just a hollow cylinder and he just made it shorter, so no worries, ink wont explode all over you when you click it. :) Hahaha

I love this work around. I haven't tried it because I am a huge fan of the Mont Blanc ballpoints. Does anyone know of a hack on this one?

I just tried it this afternoon. It is actually much easier than the instructions might indicate. The extra bit of plastic at the end is smaller in circumference than the refill. Use a sharp knife, and slide it along the extra bit until it rests against the lip, press firmly and your done. No Sanding Necessary. I used the plain black G2 fine points 4 for 4.99 and they work great.

I just sanded it down with some heavy grit paper. Nice and smoothy.
