Projects from the fourth chapter of The Best of Instructables Volume 1.
It's surprising how much good science you can do with a few simple tools and an open mind - measure forces, bottle electricity, map the sensitivity of your skin. On Instructables we have measured the speed of sound with lumps of wood, and the speed of light with a bar of chocolate. We have made a spectro- scope from an old DVD and modeled the structure of plant cells in cake. There are even schemes floating around for recreating Sputnik! In this guide are projects encompassing all branches of science, from the gloopy biology of growing phosphorescent algae, to the mysteries of magnetism.
