52 weeks of weekly challenges! Selection from the living and Food sections subtitles chosen weekly by scoochmaroo at random! Kitchen, sewing, relationships, and so on. The thing about doing it this way would add new content for all categories. Not sure how it would work as far as the judging process though. Hope this gives you some ideas. Also maybe sharing a talent, tool, process of making something. We all need great tips on what works the best. Healthy snacks. Perhaps using colors, shapes, or textures.

How about a challenge for "One-Dish Dinners"? They could be anything as long as ONLY ONE pot, pan, or dish is used to make it.

I'm personally sick of dishes already... :|

AW! That IS a great idea!
Feb 23, 2012. 2:18 PMvptony says:
thats a really good idea i like it

One crockpot? I'm so there! ;-)
Feb 23, 2012. 9:11 AMmygibzone says:
This would be great for me because I don't really have any good 1 dish meals in my collection, and also really get sick of dishes. I myself wouldn't have anything to really enter but I'd love to see what others have! Great Idea!

Thanks everyone. I hope Scoochmaroo uses this sometime. I have a few ideas myself, and would really like to see what others have to share.

mygibzone, I'm sure there's something you've made in the past that only required one pot, pan or dish. Even using a deepfryer to cook a meal is technically "one-dish", so just give it some thought, that is, if Scoochmaroo decides to make this a challenge. ;)

Scooch or... Is next week's challenge going to be announced here? (I hope)

Feb 24, 2012. 10:05 AMbajablue says:
This should read "Scooch or Penelopy". ;-)

Congrats to all the winners!

While trying to "be nice" can someone explain how working with power tools and molten lava is a kitchen skill? I think the 1st place winner has a great instructible but several other runner-ups had VERY useful, practical, creative skills for the kitchen that i can easily apply (in the kitchen).
Feb 23, 2012. 9:04 AMmygibzone says:
I think that it demonstrates how to be resourceful and inventive as a kitchen skill. It's how many of these other skills come about. Something doesn't work well for you (The store bought press) and you figure out away to do it better or improve on it. (He made his own) He just happen to use his other skills (wood working, and metaling) to aid him in the kitchen. I think it's great to see entrants from a variety of skill sets, and backgrounds! :) I hope this provides another perspective on it for you.
Feb 23, 2012. 11:31 AMbajablue says:
I like the way you think, gib! ;-)

I think Gardening should be the next challenge, its about that time of year where we start to get the itch for planting again.

The suspense waiting for the winners of this contest is killing me!!!!!
Feb 22, 2012. 11:29 AMbajablue says:
Gardening would be great for me because I live in zone 9.

I'm not sure how enthusiastic the folks in zones 1-6 would feel about it, though. ;-)
Feb 22, 2012. 1:27 PMvptony says:

Feb 22, 2012. 2:48 PMGummiBear says:
cool, im growing strawberries in a mason jar planter near a window in my room. They only need 6-7 hrs of sunlight and good watering each day, so it works out perfectly!
Feb 22, 2012. 8:04 PMbajablue says:
Sounds delicious!

Do strawberries self-pollinate or do you help them along?
Feb 20, 2012. 6:36 PMbajablue says:

Feb 22, 2012. 11:33 AMalisonb says:
Easter challenge sounds good, sounds like it could involve chocolate :)
Feb 22, 2012. 7:12 AMbajablue says:
Since you've already done Fire, how about Earth or Wind? Or break it down further to Soil, Wind or Water. They all have broad interpretations.

A Vegetarian Challenge might also be fun.
Feb 22, 2012. 11:32 AMalisonb says:
Yeah veggie challenge sounds good :)
Feb 22, 2012. 4:15 AMGummiBear says:
