Secret Door CD ROM / Puerta Secreta CD ROM

Hoy les comparto uno de mis lugares secretos para guardar cosas importantes o de valor, con estos sencillos pasos podrán crear su propio CD ROM secret !

Today I share one of my secret places to store important or valuable things, with these simple steps they can create their own CD ROM secret!

Step 1: Desmontaje Unidad / Removing Unit

Antes de comenzar recomiendo que sea una unidad vieja que ya no lea los CD o que ya no este en uso pero que pueda abrir y cerrar la puerta sin ningún problema.

Before I recommend is an old unit that no longer read CD or no longer in use but which can open and close the door without any problems.

Quitar los cuatro tornillos de la base 
Remove the four screws from the base.

Step 2: Retirar Piezas Plásticas / Remove Plastic Parts

Se empuja la palanca que se muestra en la foto para poder abrir el compartimiento por donde entra el CD-Rom y sacar las demás partes plásticas.

Lever shown on the picture to open the compartment where it enters the CD-Rom and other plastic parts get pushed.

Ya que tengamos todo desmontado seguiremos con la unidad laser u óptica la cual retiraremos.

Since we will have everything removed with laser or optical drive which will withdraw.

Step 3: Retirar Unidad Óptica / Remove Optical Drive

Se necesita retirar dicha unidad para que no estorbe al momento de cerrar la puerta del CD-Rom 

They need to remove the unit out of the way when you close the door of CD-Rom

Step 4: Acoplando La Charola Del CD-ROM / Putting the Tray of the CD-ROM

Una vez que retiramos la unidad óptica procedemos a tapar el orificio de la charola para así poder utilizar todo su espacio y poder guardar las cosas que son de valor o de importancia.

Once we remove the optical drive proceed to plug the hole in the tray in order to use all their space and keep the things that are of value or importance.

Step 5: Armado Y Prueba / Assembly and Test

Ya que terminemos de tapar el orificio de la unidad óptica nos fijamos que cierre bien la puerta y que no estorbe en  ninguna parte.

Now we finish cover the hole on the optical drive that you look good and close the door out of the way anywhere.

Después volvemos a cerrar y ensamblar sus partes dejando excluida la unidad óptica y poniendo los 4 tornillos de la base.

After a close back and assemble parts excluded leaving the optical drive and put the 4 screws from the base.

Con respecto a la electrónica no hay que hacer nada ya que los módulos de control son independientes por lo que permiten cerrar y abrir la puerta sin ningún problema con tan solo presionar el botón que esta en la parte de enfrente de la unidad. 

Regarding electronics not to do anything since the control modules are independent thus allowing close and open the door without any problem just by pressing the button that is on the front of the unit.

Lo único que se debe de conectar al computador es el conector de alimentación el que sale de la fuerte de poder este solo tiene cuatro cables (rojo, negro, negro, amarillo); NO conectes el cable IDE o de datos SATA al computador por que no se abrirá la puerta del CD-ROM ya que este lo que hace es que espera el pulso de la unidad óptica el "no cd" el cual nunca llegará y bloquea la unidad.

All that must be connected to the computer is the power connector that goes from the strong power it has only four wires (red, black, black, yellow); NOT connect the IDE cable or SATA data to the computer that the CD-ROM door will not open because this is what makes waiting for the pulse of the "no cd" which will never come and locks the optical drive.

Step 6: Conclusiones / Conclusions

Este tutorial lo eh probado con varias unidades de CD-ROM y an funcionado bien sin ningun problema, en cambio no la eh probado con unidades DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW por lo que no garantizo su buen funcionamiento; si la unidad es muy vieja es mejor por que los módulos de control dan menos problemas que las nuevas unidades de CD-ROM.

This tutorial eh tested with multiple CD-ROM and an worked well without any problems, however eh not tested DVD-ROM, DVD-R drives, DVD + R, DVD-RW so I can not guarantee their good operation, if the unit is very old it is better that the control modules give fewer problems than the new CD-ROM.
