Typing Skills

Oh, and before I forget, here is the code you will be needing:

cls

@ECHO OFF

title Folder Locker

if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK

if NOT EXIST Locker goto MDLOCKER

:CONFIRM

echo Are you sure u want to Lock the folder(Y/N)

set/p "cho=>"

if %cho%==Y goto LOCK

if %cho%==y goto LOCK

if %cho%==n goto END

if %cho%==N goto END

echo Invalid choice.

goto CONFIRM

:LOCK

ren Locker "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

echo Folder locked

goto End

:UNLOCK

echo Enter password to Unlock folder

set/p "pass=>" if NOT %pass%==Your-Password-Here goto FAIL

attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Locker

echo Folder Unlocked successfully

goto End

:FAIL

echo Invalid password

goto end

:MDLOCKER

md Locker

echo Locker created successfully

goto End

:End

I take no credit for the code; all the code was taken from LaptopMag.

TODO

Copy-Paste the code and dump it into a .txt file. Change the Your-Password-Here value to the password you want. Then save as a .bat file...

If you want to change your password, then right-click the file and click "Edit". You can change the value.

Of course, there are main weaknesses in this.

  • If you lock the locker, then move the .bat file to Google Drive, then your locker files disappear forever.
  • A nasty guy could right-click the file, edit the master password, and have access to your files.
  • If the computer goes bad, you'll never get your passwords back. In other words, no sync.

We could, however, prevent people from changing/viewing the master-password by converting the .bat file to a .exe file.
