Setting up a Website with Google's Page Creator

How to set up a website with Google Labs' new Page Creator. (How to make a simple 100mb website for free and have it up in an afternoon.) Including how to ,link form page to page, link to other pages, link to uploaded html files, include images, and embed flash games and gadgets.

WARNING: Google's Page Creator is a trial provided by Google Labs. It is in testing. (The trial may end, Google may decide to charge money for it, or Page Creator could be shut down.) The best case scenario of course is that it could become a finalized website under Google.

Step 1 Log in to Page Creator

Go to http://www.pages.google.com and enter in your Gmail username and password. If you dont have a Gmail account follows the link to -sign up here-

The first time you enter a page will come up telling you a little about the features of Page Creator. To get inside you have to go to the bottom and agree to the terms and conditions.

One tip to make your googlepage look really good is use lots of different text types (Heading, subheading, normal, etc.) to emphasize different sections of a page. I think that's one thing google did really well.

nice tuorial! have a question though..u create the website...u publish it...is it then available in google search engine? I mean...can people (that I don't know) find it? Thanks

It probably won't show up for awhile, or it may appear a ton of pages in. The way google picks up sites is by randomly searching the internet for websites with "meta" tages in their code. These tags give google the title, a description, etc. of your site. I'm not sure if Google Pages even creates the tags for you, though.

nevermind. To delete pictures: go to the edit screen, click on the step you want to delete pictures from, and scroll down to where you have your picture. Below that there should be a smaller version of the picture above your picture library. Lokk to yor right. See the (x) ? Click that, then click "unlink file".

also, the site shows you a scaled-down version of the image by default, to get to the original uploaded image click on the (i) in the upper left corner of any image, then in the left column click on 'original' and then under the image click the link for 'download original size'

thank you for your comments, I think i fixed the ¢â�¬ï¿½ ? mess by taking out all of my qoutes and apostraphys I am in the process of replacing all the images with higher quality ones
