"Black pearl in a bottle". It is really amazing. Finely detailed really nice.

Andrus' fine instructables show that he builds very nice ships. His photo's have given me some idea's for making my own modelling easier and better, As well as a ship I need to do in the near future (the Viking Ship) I would refer any one with a serious interest to look into obtaining the books "Modelling Ships in Bottles" by Jack Needham and/or Secrets of Ships in Bottles by Peter Thorne. In addition to Andrus' excellent photojournalism, I recommend both books highly. They give information on the somewhat specialized tools that are needed for this hobby, most of which can be D.I.Y.ed.

Making Ship-in-a-bottle is my dream... Thanks for the inspiration!!

So, how, and at what point, did you make the masts collapsible? That is the whole trick of making a ship in a bottle.

That looks really neat, I like how you designed the waves to show the water churning around the ship :)
