Do you have old shoes?
Do you not hate birds?
If you answered yes to both of the about questions please continue reading. If you answered no, eh you could peace out...or read...I don't know, I'm not good at writing intros.
This is my attempt at recycling shoes to become bins for screws, nails, and rocks, but with an unexpected outcome.
I bought these shoes in Cherokee for $8 because I shredded my pair of water shoes on the sharp rocks in the river. They served me well, but then my feet grew a lot.
Step 1: Get some shoes
Old, worn out, unfitting, or just straight-up unwanted shoes will do just fine.
Step 2: Nail It!
Take your shoes and nail them to a tree. I put mine inside a shed, but this isn't really the best idea.
Probably the best place to put the nail is in the heel.
The filling is the best (optional) part: Your going to want to put something in the toe area of the shoe so that when the birds decide to visit, they don't fall and get stuck down there. As stated early, I did this step when I was using the shoes as bins for screws.
Step 3: Wait a long time.
Or not, it really depends on the placement, type of bird, and stuff.
Hopefully birds will make a nest out of your old shoes.
