SideWinder Covert Thumb Drive Mod.

Have no need for the weights in your Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse? Ran out of hiding places for your flash drives? Well this ible will show you how to take advantage of this extra space you might never use.

Step 1: Get The Parts...

First off you will need:

> Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse WITH the Weight carage.
> Flash / thumb drive of your choice of size (recommended around 8+ gigs)
    -> The flash drive must be small in length, bust be less then 48MM!!!
> Hot glue gun
> a ruler (or a measuring device)
> Pliers / Cutters of some sort
> Exacto blade / nife

great idea! Only, you should make the usb stick detachable from the lid. That way, if you use the usb stick, you don't have that huge hole on the side of your mouse. I'm not having weights in the mouse, so if I find a useful thing to put in there I will. There is a screw wich connects the lid with the "weight tray". If I was to do this mod I would remove the tray and use another piece of plastic to attach my usb stick to. Nice instructable!

i had to keep the tray somewhat intact since i didnt use a strong enough glue, otherwise it would simply fall off if i drop it. but that idea would work. and thanks.

awsome idea however i love the weights in the mouse itself, 15 grams, lol... pretty cool that you put somthing in side though, great 'ible :)
