How to build a simple propeller toy from LEGO parts.

Step 1: Find Your Parts

This simple project only requires two parts:

1x2952 Propeller 2 Blade 9 Diameter
1x3708 Technic, Axle 12

Part numbers are from http://www.bricklink.com/
Actually the LEGO company has curiously-tight standards on it's components. The propeller blade in view is actually aerodynaically accurate for what is supposed to be a toy. Mount it on a hobby motor (mabuchi 535, check your local R/C shop), and you will have a powerful and efficient cooling fan for many projects. Only troubvle is paying the exorbitent prices for the kits. Raise your kids on LEGO and you will spawn the next generation of mechanical engineers, I promise...
or buy it of pick a brick <br>
Hehehe... the most basic of toys. We had those when I was growing up but they were made of those plastic popsicle sticks. Good times.... good times....
I don't think that axle in the picture is a 12. There should be like this launcher thing for it. That would be cool.
that was not so usefull
I need help on step 2.
wow thats complicated woo
lame. why waste server space on something that's just two pieces?
I remember doing this when I was about 5 years old. Ah good times.
man wish there were more lego instructables too many legos so little knex
Prometheus dude my brother is a lego genuis hes umbelieveable up to the very last detail
coolness i think..
I think you are supposed to put the propeller on top of the axle..
Took a genius to think of that.
wait, i'm confused. do we put the axle into the propeller AFTER we buy it? just kidding. its a neat little toy for kids :P
