Introduction: Simple Metal Detector Circuit

Here is another simple but very useful circuit named Metal Detector Circuit. Metal detector is very common device for checking the person in shopping malls, hotels, cinema halls to ensure that person is not carrying any explosive metals or illegal things like guns, bombs etc. Are you interested to know how to design this circuit, working and applications of this circuit? Then read the post - Simple Metal Detector Project Circuit.

Here a simple metal detector from the 60 in 1 project. It operates on 3 volts and it sort of portable. You could protect the components with plexiglass and pack it into your backpack. It is easier to built than this and functions very well with just one PNP transistor. I would not go past 4 volts unless you use a 1-2 K ohm resistor at the emittor of the PNP transistor. Then 8-9 volts could be used.
