OK, this is my first instructable, so please be nice . . .:)

I know others have created templates, and wizz-bang examples, but after looking through what I can only class as three quaters of the internet, less all the PORN, I was unable to find a quick, easy, simple, no hassle, way to do it. So, I created my own!

This is a simple 8 step sequence, no measuring (other than by your guestimate with your eyes), no lines with fold here, crimp this bit, wipe your tongue along here and staple you eyelid at thispoint.

It is a simple fold here, here, here, here, here and put this in here. Done.

You will need a CD or DVD (probably the one you wanta case for)
An A4 piece of paper. (I have not done this with a letter size, as A4 is the standard here in Australia) Another reason why I cannot find a good example.

I do apologise for the pics, they were taken with my phone, as this was an on the spur decision to make the instructable.

So let's have a look . . .

Step 1: Get You Gear - Start to Fold

OK, you have your piece of A4 paper and a disc. You are ready (Easy so far eh?)

Place disc roughly in the centre of the paper.

Take one of the long sides and fold in until the paper is roughly touching the second shiny ring. Check out the pic to see where it shoudl roughly be.

Run finger along the edge to make a nice neat fold and rotate the paper in preparation for the next step.

Don't get ahead now . . .

Step 2: Step 2 - Still Folding

OK, for those who didn't cheat and skip ahead, here is the next step.

With the unfolded edge facing you, repeat the foldigs as you did in the last step. The edge should line up closely to the second ring on this side of the disc.

Again check the photo to see the detail.

Run finger along the edge to produce a nice neat fold and get ready for the next step . . .

Step 3: Step 3 - the Bottom (tee Hee Hee)

I said bottom . . . tee hee hee, hope I don't get in trouble.

The next step is a little harder as YOU have to make a choice. Which end will be the bottom (tee hee hee . . again)

When you have decided, have this end closest to you and fold it in, lining up the side edges.

The paper should be firmly up against the disc,but not pushing it up and out of the newly created sleeve.

Have a look and see if this is what you got and if so, pat yourself on the back, then go to the next step.

Step 4: Step 4 - the Pointy Bits

Now, to make it easier to create a self closed envelope, we need to narrow down the unfolded end.

It will be folded over, but also inserted into the existing structure. (Wait for it in the later pages, it is clever).

Now carefully fold each corner of the unfolded end in at approx 45 degrees. (Yeah I know approx this, guesstimate that)

You should end up with something that looks like the one below.

Step 5: Step 5 - the Finisher

Hopefully noone has gotten lost so far in this ever increasingly simple build.

For those of you wtill able to hang on and not be too frustrated by the really scary instructions, here is what I will dub "THE FINISHER".

This very technical move required some dexterity (not), slight of hand (Nope), alright you have to be able to fold the paper and push the end into the other bit.

The photos below should pretty much explain it, if not, heck I made it too hard.

Step 6: Ta Da

There you go. A simple, no hassle disc envelope for CD or DVD.

You can put a sticker over the final join if you want to make it more secure.

Flip it over and write on a title.

Life is much simpler.
