Step 1Everything you need...

Everything you need...
To begin all you really need is some paper, glue, and scissors. The floral tape and stem wire are optional. You can make your own stems out of things around the house or by rolling paper. The floral tape will help in adding completed flowers together to make bunches.

I cannot for the life of me do these flowers. Mine come out teeeny tiny even after using two sheets of standard printer paper. They're no bigger than my thumb actually. How big do you make your petals?

make them about twice the size of a quarter

I use Aleen's Turbo Tacky Glue, it works fast so you can just keep adding your petals without stopping! And the coffee filters work great, I dip mine in water based paint thinned with water, tinted to whatever color I want to mix up! Also I buy the fake rose bunches at Walmart & remove the roses, replace them with mine & spray them with a favorite perfume! Thanks for this great Instructable! I've really enjoyed making & giving these roses. Here's 3 of the roses I've made.

These are so beautiful! I have been trying to find something to do for a bouquet at my wedding (62 days to go!!!!!) and now I know!
Out of curiosity, how many petals did you find you used per flower?
I am going to try to make mine out of the pages of an old book. I may also paint a few. I'll let you know how it turns out!
This is an awesome instructable!

This is a great instructable! Very clear pictures, simple steps, and it uses things I already have around the house. Using your paper flower technique and a little personal creativity I made this awesome bouquet for my friend's birthday. Thanks for posting this project up :)

That is SO gorgeous. Really plays up the best parts of this gorgeous instructable, with a flair of your creativity in it, too! How did you get those lovely gradients on the petals?

Thanks! After making the flowers, I brushed them very lightly with watercolors, so that they got an even balance of colored and white splashes.

Reminds me of the dust tape rose...only not duct tape. I find the rose looks more real if you glue a thin roll of paper after every four-or-so petals, making the rose thicker at the stem, rather than a cone shape. Very nice!
Jan 8, 2011. 3:49 PMCraftBear says:
That sounds like a great idea =)
Dec 12, 2010. 11:19 AMhohum says:
YO,

you got a pic of what/where the extra roll of paper goes

thanks

Hello,
The paper flower is very beautiful.
But need the colors. Maybe the red, blue, yellow and so on.
I think if the flowers have colors, will be much more beautiful.
