Simple Windmill

Have you ever wanted to generate and use your own power?..Well this instructable shows you to make your own power generating windmill

Here is the list of things you may need...
1. A DC motor
2. A blade for the motor
3. LED
4. Screwdriver (minus) and spanner
5. Zephyr Mechanix Parts

Zephyr Mechanix parts...
1. RPY   X1
2. R-8    X1
3. A-2     X1
4. RTB   X2
5. BTB   X2
6. SH-4 X1
7. Screws and Bolts x6 (6-pairs)

Step 1: Step 1 Basic housing

Connect both a BTB's along their length using A-2 as shown..

Step 2: Step 2 Connecting LEDs

Connect the LED and the Blade to the DC motor 
NOTE: the LED's should be tucked so that it is behind the motor itself (see pic)

Step 3: Step 3 Finishing the Housing

Attach both the RTB's to the BTB's making a cover for the motor. 
use the second hole to screw it.

Step 4: Step 4 Fitting the Motor into the Housing

Insert the Motor along with the LED and the Blade into the Housing

Step 5: Step 5 Building the Mount

Screw down the R-8 at the base of the Housing 

Step 6: Step 6 Making the Stand for the Mount

Attach the SH-4 Shaft to the RPY using screws 

Step 7: Step 7 Finishing

Yeah! i remember I told u not to use the shaft holder of the R-8 then......well it's time to use it now

Attach the Stand's Shaft into the R-8's Holder and screw it firmly..

That's it Your Done!!

which motor u used to build this project

i used a DC motor took it from an old CD player u could get it from any electronics stores

what is the rated voltage and rpm of ur motor it looks too small and without a voltage booster u are glowing a led thats nice the fan is also too small thats a very compactible project what was the v drop of ur led i tried with a 12v 2400 rpm motor but didnt get good results can u suggest me some solution any help would be greatlyu appreciated

i tuk it from some old electronic set...u could biuld your own too...just cut out some cardboard and attach it to the motor's axle..and fasten it with some mixture of glue and water in the 3:2 ratio..
