This simple and extremely cheap laptop stand, that could be made from items you might find at you home. This stand will solve a few solutions. First, it will raise the back of you laptop to provide a comfortable keyboard angle and will bring the display closer to your eyes for comfortable viewing. Second, it will provide sufficient space under the laptop itself to allow air ventilation to pass through; therefore the laptop will not run too hot.

Well, I am glad that I could help solve you problem (or our problems) with this simple solution. Even the simplest and cheapest things that could easily be made from scraps, could be the most useful things.

Well...... I am only 16 years old but I know what I do. I think before I do and as my Tech teacher used to say, "measure twice, cut once."

I will not tell you my age, it suffice to say that I have a son your age! I am going to make 3 of these! One for me, my son and my husband! Good job, I am going to use exotic hard wood, and make them with a fancy design. Non the less I will use your basic design. PS I am going to add space on the side for either a mouse or note pad. 3Frog

If you use a very flexible material (such as scrap cloth) in place of the cardboard, you can roll it up (!). Two spots of hook and pile fastener to let you you detach the rod and fabric from the tube would let you roll up the fabric around the rod and store it inside the tube, making it very portable and light. A chopstick makes a nice rod.

Not a bad idea for using what you have on hand. I have the same laptop, so I might try this.

Nice work, I suggest maybe a piece of material glued over the top? make it look a bit neater etc.
