Introduction: Simple Overhead Fishing Rod Rack

About: Tall nerd, degree in manufacturing tech. I dabble in everything. Many of my projects in here are pretty old. These days I mainly do 3d printing and run startups- ask me anything!

Not much to say here. I had a lot of fishing rods that were getting in my way, so I decided to store them overhead.

I cut four pieces of 3 foot long, 1.5x3/4 inch wood, and four 2 inch sections of 1 1.5 inch diameter dowel. Screwed it all together, used a stud finder to locate the ceiling joists, and screwed it in. It's holding 9 rods right now with room for a few more, and is holding up quite well.

The whole thing was free from junk wood I had in the shed, and it took about an hour to build. Quick and strong solution.
