Introduction: Skeleton Halloween DIY Costume & Makeup - Cut Up T-Shirt

If you're looking for a simple DIY Halloween costume, how about a skeleton? You just need a t-shirt, a pair of scissors and I'll show you how to cut it up (and put on the makeup)!

It's hard coming up with a cool costume idea every year and I hate spending so much money on buying a costume so I'm always on the lookout for easy DIY costumes that don't require any special items. Skeleton to the rescue!

If you're looking for other ways to customize the look, here are some other DIY skeleton cut up t-shirt for inspiration!

Step 1: Cut off a wide neckline (to your liking) and the bottom hem

Step 2: Plan 3 columns of cuts. You can use a pen on a white shirt or white sewing chalk for a black shirt.

Step 3: Cut 1 skinny spine in the middle column. I snipped them 1/2 an inch apart.

Step 4: Start cutting out the ribs on each side. First row is a tear shape, second row is an oval, third row is a skinny oval, then the rest are straight lines tapering into a "V" shape towards the bottom of the spine.

Step 5: Stretch everything out and make sure it's even

Voila! Optionally, you could weave the spine (which will scrunch up and shorten the shirt) or cut out every other row in the spine to create boxes for spine vertebras.
