I have been constructing a custom sonic screwdriver based upon the 11th (current) Dr. from the T.V. show Dr. Who. I decided to add a mechanical iris embedded in the pommel as a feature. So here are a few pics of the construction and finished pommel for the sonic screwdriver.

Dimensions.
The cam is 20mm in diameter with a 10mm aperture. It has eight leaves that close to approximately 2mm

The inspiration was from the timepiece iris.

Thank you for looking.

Wowzers!

The sonic screwdriver that this iris belongs to is now complete. You can see it working here.

http://youtu.be/6fmNuRO9JLM

Thankyou.

You should post the screwdriver here even if it just is pictures

you should post diagrams
I've seen your work on the RPF. It's amazing. http://www.therpf.com/f9/re-imagining-11th-dr-sonic-screwdriver-152888/
I will fit the macro lens to a camera for some real closeups, and upload them in a couple of days.

Thanks for the comment.
That's a tiny iris. Can we get some close ups to see your detail?
