Introduction: Smart Ads System (Intel IoT) #IntelMaker

Advertisement is one the the biggest business today. Some of the biggest companies like Google and Facebook earn from ads. Why? Because the ads are SMART and TARGETED. They are customer-centric..The advertise everything may it be a cheap flight ,an air conditioner,a hotel, or a great pair of heels you were looking for. The question arises who pays them? Obviously, the merchant who wants to sell his services or goods. Over years these giants have worked to get this intelligence in the field of online advertising. For example Google has some great intelligent advertising stuff like Google AdWords and Analytics. Why not to improve the scope of such tools? Why not to get it to the very local level like hoardings? Lets make it a bit more fancy , add some hardware stuff, make the hoardings communicate with each other. We use a cloud (Intel free cloud)..to store data of the merchants and their priorities... change it as and when needed and control it. In a nutshell, we deal with physical advertisements done with intelligent Billboards/hoardings. Thus doing business at grass-root levels. We get customized and priority ads for pedestrians and vehicle travelers.

Here are some of the features and benefits of our designed product: 1. Sensing traffic 2. Sensing natural lighting and accordingly light up LED screen 3. Monitor air quality and produce data that can be consumed 4. Give customized ads 5. Create daily reports for hoarding owners 6. Dynamic and smart ad making 7. Updating ads via clouds 8. Saving energy by controlling brightness and based on need Overall, we wish to make this business more customer-centric not just for us, but also for our customers’ customers....

Step 1: Set Up the Edison Board

You can you Arduino or any other environment.

Flashin Board: http://www.intel.com/support/edison/sb/CS-035286.h...

Using Arduino: https://www.arduino.cc/en/ArduinoCertified/IntelEdison

Step 2: Add the Shield and All the Sensors

Connect all the sensors using shield: https://goo.gl/photos/cWiT5bo3bV1yrfM57

We have used grover kit for all the external hardware: http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/Grove-Starter-Kit-for-Arduino-p-1855.html

Step 3: Integrate With Cloud

Select the cloud services to use: Amazon, Intel, IBM etc

Step 4: Test the Setup

Use this code and test if all is working well. You'll need to install some libraries based on the sensors you are using. Code is available here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2iJy7jCEl4fQllHRlROd3VfbXM

Step 5: Improve

There is tremendous scope in improving this system, bringing iot, intelligence and sell to the right client..
