Introduction: S'mores 2.0
S'mores can be messy. Very messy. Trying to get a piece of a chocolate bar to melt enough to stay stuck to the graham cracker yet not be so melted that it drips chocolate everywhere is a fine art. Luckily, with a little forethought and preparation, you can make s'mores simple to assemble.
This instructable is a s'mores mod. You are going to pre-chocolatize the graham crackers so all that is required for ooey, gooey smores goodness is to melt that marshmallow. Marshmallows can be toasted over a barbeque or other heat source but can alternately be melted in the microwave. Keep a bag of these chocolated grahams around for a quick comfort food fix any time.
Step 1: Getting It Together
You need:
One sleeve of graham crackers
1/2 cup chocolate chips
one spoon
one butter knife
one small bowl
one shallow pan or plate
Step 2: Preparing the Graham Crackers
Snap the graham crackers in half on the score line. If the graham crackers refuse to break neatly, score them a little with the knife before splitting them.
Step 3: Chocolate!
Pour chocolate chips into a bowl and microwave 40 seconds. Stir. If the chocolate has not completely melted, microwave again for 10 seconds and then stir, repeating until it is all melted.
Step 4: Spread the Chocolate
Spread melted chocolate on HALF of the graham cracker squares. Lay squares onto the pan.
Step 5: Cooling the Chocolate
Place the pan in the freezer or refrigerator and chill until the chocolate has solidified. This only takes a few minutes.
Step 6: Storage
Stack the chocolatized grahams in pairs with the non-chocolatized graham cracker squares. Store in zip top bags. Store them in a cool place until you are ready for s'mores.
Now you can make s'mores any time!
Step 7: Assembly
When you are ready for a s'more, simply toast your marshmallow however you see fit and squish between a pair of graham cracker halves. Consume!
