Step 1: What You Will Need...
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups of clean snow
-gloves (You don't want your hands going numb while picking up snow!)
Step 2: Go Outside & Let's Get Started!
It is important that when selecting your snow that you choose a clean area. Do not collect snow from an area where pets go potty (yuck!) Other snow to avoid is that where people have walked on or cars have been. I suggest using a top layer of snow from a deserted area nearby.
Since your bowl has been stored inside at room temperature, it is a good idea to chill your bowl a bit by submerging it in the snow. (2 minutes should be long enough)
Step 3: Add the Good Stuff
If you are doing this with your children, have them help add the ingredients. They will love helping, plus they are doing something productive!
Step 4: Mix, Serve, Enjoy!
That's all there is to it! Now you have yourself a super tasty treat to enjoy inside by the warm fire. There is no limit to flavors you can add. Cocoa, strawberry, almond...you name it! It's also great served with fruit! Try experimenting with these flavors. You could have a different one for each snow day!
If you have any left over, just put the rest in the freezer and save it for later!
ENJOY and stay warm out there!
