Introduction: Snowman Soup

This snowman soup recipe is fantastic for those cold winter nights and makes a wonderful Christmas gift as well! Making this delicious gift is as easy as one, two, three! Wrap up hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, and chocolates, and adding a sweet little poem to wrap it all up! You can give it as a gift in a coffee mug, in a gift basket, or hang it on the tree with the candy cane as a hook! Enjoy!

Step 1: You Will Need...

Food ingredients:
- Hot chocolate mix
- Mini marshmallows
- 3 Hershey hugs or kisses ( Or M&M's or mini chocolates)
- Cinnamon
- Candy cane

Craft Supplies:
- Clear cellophane bags ( Cone shaped or normal)
- Ribbon
- Curling Ribbon
- Twist tie
- Scissors
- Mug
- Teaspoon
- Poem

I Didn't have any clear cellophane bags, so I made my own!
Homemade bags:
- Pen
- Ruler
- Clear cellophane roll

Step 2: Poem

Create a small poem with Microsoft Word, or by hand which says,

" Was told you've been real good this year
always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
you'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup
complete with a stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow,
it's sure to do the trick! "

Print it on card stock so its thick and hole punch one of the corners.

Step 3: Making the Bags

Cut out a 24" square out of the cellophane and lay it on top the mug.  Then push the center down into the cup. Cut around cellophane so it 3" above the rim of the mug. Take out the plastic and lay it on a flat surface and cut around all the ragged edges and it should be shaped like a circle. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to look nice. Place bag in mug.

Step 4: Prepare

Place an elastic band around the plastic so it stays on the cup and doesn't get in the way of your scooping.

Step 5: Layer the Items

First scoop in 3 - 5 heaping tsp of hot chocolate mix. Add just a pinch of cinnamon. Than on top, add 10 - 20 marshmallows. The last item is the chocolates.

Step 6: Tie!

Take the elastic out and pull the bag out of the cup holding on tightly so the mix doesn't spill. Tie on the twist tie, than tie on the ribbon making a bow.

Step 7: Attach

Thread the curling ribbon the poem, and tie it on under the bow.

Step 8: Finishing Touches!

Put it in a coffee mug with a candy cane hanging of the edge, or stick the candy cane through the bow and hang it on the tree!
I hope you enjoyed this instructible!
