Dude, you failed to mention how fast this thing can heat up. I just burned my fingers. I know it has fire in it but i thought i would have a second or two to close the door. but nope burned me the second after i lit it.

I made a heater from two soda cans so basically just take the bottom inch off both the cans make holes in one part put fuel in the bottom part and interlock them

I really wish I could see a pic of this heater in action. I'm having a little hard time imagining how it should be used >.<; but looks like a great camp idea!

i made this, and surprisingly, it gave off alot of heat, but a bad smell, But probably because i used paper.
Feb 27, 2009. 3:42 PMbylerfamily says:
The bad smell was the protective coating on the aluminum foil.
Aug 22, 2007. 11:45 AMPCvsMac says:
Pretty Cool! Now you actually fire! Also, incase the starts to get hot, would it be an idea to wrap duct tape around it? (Except from the holes :))
Feb 27, 2009. 3:40 PMbylerfamily says:
If you wrapped duct tape around it the duct tape would start to melt and smell horrible.

I made this, that made a couple modifications. 1. I removed the door 'cause I felt it was unnecessary. 2.i cut the scraps horizontally and made a chimney by stuffing them in the top

i was gonna do this same thing and post it but i got burned WARNING:i made this a couple months ago and i lit it, it got so hot that it burned my hand and finger prints clean off THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SHOULD ONLY BE USED for DECRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY
Dec 28, 2008. 7:21 AMThe Red Button says:

Brilliant, always assuming you are in the woods with a can, scissors, hole punch, sand, paper and matches of course!
Jan 20, 2008. 3:03 PMDomindude3 says:
That would be useful if you were in the woods I guess, but not so if you don't like hot tin cans. It is also easy to make. God job
Aug 31, 2007. 8:52 AMBrowncoat says:
I'm confused about the "make handle" step. You say it's so you can open the door, but you show the door already open before you get to that step. So why do you make the handle...? (Asking, not being rude.) Do you leave the door open or close it when burning your stuff?
Dec 12, 2007. 2:51 AMDrCoolSanta says:
You sure you made it? [/SARCASM] Considering that opening it would be difficult if the door would be closed, but with that cut you can poke in your finger and pull the door. You get to see this in some bottles, but in that case it is a dent.
Sep 29, 2007. 1:42 PMBardouv says:
I decided to do this, but i figured i'd mod it, so i added some leather to the outside so i could pick it up. It worked okay until i burned a bunch of notes. I guess to much heat got kept in because of the leather and the can melted. Then the leather caught on fire and i had to put it out. *tears*
Sep 23, 2007. 7:27 PMthreecheersfornick says:
Ok, I really like this, but I'm a little confused about why we're making a hole in the top... is it just to make a chimney?
