Introduction: Soil Moisture/humidity Control System With No Electrocorrosion Effects

Helpfull for home is a soil moisture control system, who can made easy with a Arduino development board.

For tests I use a Arduino Mega board, alpahanumerical 1602 LCD with i2c interface, soil moisture module, but for real use must use relay module for control a wattering pump.

My soil moisture sensor is not permanent powered with 5V because in timp probe sensor will be distroyed by electrocorrosion effects, so, I powered the sensor just few seconds at 5 seconds when pump is on for avoid flooding and at 5 minutes (in test I use 20 seconds) when soil is wet.

Step 1: Schematic, Description & Sketch

My schematic is made with:

1) Arduino Mega board (works with any Arduino board)

2) alphanumerical lcd display 1602 type

3) soil moisture sensor

4) relay module for control pump

Sketch is lcd1602_i2c_soilhumidity_ver1.ino who can find on my Github channel.

In sketch, Arduino board power the sensor module few seconds, compute the value, disconect the sensor and decide what must to made: power the pump or just waitting...

Step 2: Conclusion

For a test, is ok to use simple sketch and schematic with Arduino, soil moisurte sensor and relay module... for real test use a schematic with minimal corrosion efects...

Step 3: Video..

in video you will all you need..
