Introduction: Solar Bamboo Curer

My idea for a solar bamboo curer

I think its a nice and natural idea, however I believe that it would not be very efficient and it would be difficult to control the temperature to avoid burning the bamboo. I would rather propose an approach based on non concentrated solar energy. Think of a solar oven instead of a parabolic trough. The solar oven could reach the required temperature to cure the bamboo (~ 180°C) without as high a risk of burning it. It would allow you to heat cure several rods at the same time, with much less area requirements and it could work unattended for short periods of time (20-30 min).

Also, CSP requires direct irradiation (i.e. really clear sky), whereas non concentrated solar collectors can also operate (albeit with reduced efficiency) with diffuse light.
