I used a bamboo lamination to create the custom seatpost assembly on the Soul Cycle Chopper. I experimented with different methods of bending the bamboo until I found a steam bending method I liked. As it turned out most of the curves I wanted to do were gentle enough to not need steam. Rather than using a steam box, I soaked the pieces of bamboo in water, then bent them around a hot pipe.

The Rock the Bike workshop is in a shared workshop community in Berkeley called the Tinker's Workshop. I raided my neighbors clamps for a few days to get the most thorough clamping job possible.
