You'll love this wonderful pizza bread. It has loads of healthy ingredients and a great sourdough texture. Change some of the ingredients according to your taste preferences and let me know your favorite!
Let's take a look at how we made it.
Step 1: Ingredients
Add the flour, starter and pizza sauce to a bowl then mix until combined. Cover with a tea towel and leave at room temperature overnight for the sourdough starter to work through the dough.
Rest of ingredients
- 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 50 grams butter
- 1/4 cup kalamata black olives
- 1/4 cup roasted red peppers
- 1/4 cup cubed cheese
We've lined a baking tin with non-stick baking paper. The mixture will sit around 30mm deep so choose a tin to suit. Our tin was 16cm x 20cm.
Step 2: Beginning to Mix
In a clean bowl add the ferment mixture, melted butter and baking soda and mix thoroughly.
Step 3: Adding Flavors
Add the olives, chopped red peppers and cheese and give the mixture another good stir.
Step 4: Baking
Finally stir in the vinegar then pour the mixture into a lined tin and bake for 35 minutes at 180 degrees C (356 degrees F) or until golden brown.
Step 5: Ready to Serve
When the Sourdough Pizza Bread is cooked remove it from the oven and then ease it from the tin and let it cool.
Slice into pieces to form interesting diamond shapes.
Best served warm and fresh, but you can also enjoy this on picnics and walks.
